Patrice Carré: Suoni / Sons

Born in Angers (F), Patrice Carré lives and works in Marseille (F). His works have been purchased by various FRAC (Basse-Normandie, Bretagne, Bourgogne, Pays de la Loire), as well as by the Fond National d'Art Contemporain Paris. He held numerous solo exhibitions, mostly in France, and he also participated in several group shows, most notably Visual Sound, in 2001, at the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh (PA). This is his first solo exhibition in Italy.
Sound is at the center of many of his works, both acoustically and visually, and his exhibiting project for e/static, along with sound sculptures, a drawing made with screwheads (after his beloved Tintin cartoon character) and self-built loudspeakers, will also feature light as an extension, or a prosthesis, of sound itself. Moreover, Patrice Carré will display a new sculpture he expressly made for this exhibition: an enhanced reproduction of a certain ‘portable sound device’, mostly common in everyday life.

Mathieu Chauvin collaborated for sound.
